US President Donald Trump announced a new initiative to paint the border wall at the Mexico border black. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to “The Hill,” citing US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, it is known that Trump gave this order directly, and workers have already begun painting some sections of the wall black.
Secretary Noem believes that the black color heats the wall significantly in the sun and helps reduce migrants' attempts to climb the wall. She emphasized that the entire border wall is planned to be painted black and expressed confidence that such measures will be effective in controlling migration.
Additionally, Noem personally visited the border area to actively participate in supervising and supporting the painting work. Her visit coincided with a period when the number of apprehensions at the US southern border decreased.
Trump had proposed this idea during his first presidential term as well, highlighting that the black wall would serve as not only a physical but also a psychological barrier for migrants. However, the issue of the black wall has sparked various debates among Americans.
Some experts consider it an effective measure to control migration, while others point out its aesthetic and environmental concerns. At the same time, Trump’s initiative is seen as a sign of the beginning of a new and complex era in US border policy.
This decision is said to potentially impact the country’s political directions in migration and security fields.
