A new dispute has arisen in world diplomacy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The French government has expressed serious dissatisfaction with the new sanctions imposed by the United States. These sanctions are being applied to foreign judges involved in investigations by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In a statement issued by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this situation was sharply criticized. According to the information, the US has imposed sanctions on four ICC judges, including French national Nicolas Guillou.
This decision caused significant protest in Paris. French officials emphasized that the US government, by taking such a step, is undermining the independence of judicial bodies and violating the principles of justice.
In the statement from the Paris Foreign Ministry, the US position was described as a "disappointing situation." It was also emphasized that the sanctions against the judges are illegal and contrary to democratic principles.
It should be recalled that recently US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the imposition of sanctions against US and Israeli citizens within the framework of ICC investigations. These restrictions include well-known lawyers and judges such as Canadian Kimberly Prost, French Nicolas Guillou, Fijian Nazhat Shamim Khan, and Senegalese Mame Mandiaye Niang.
France considers this situation as political pressure on the international justice system. Experts believe that this conflict may become a new test in relations between the US and European Union countries.
