An astonishing and dangerous incident that occurred in India has attracted widespread public attention. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the information, a brave 35-year-old mother showed great courage to rescue her small child from the mouth of a crocodile. The incident took place in the village of Dakiya, in a canal connected to the Gagra River.
While a boy named Viru was swimming in the water, a wild crocodile approximately seven meters long attacked him. The animal bit the boy hard and began dragging him towards the drainage section of the canal.
Hearing the child's screams, the mother did not hesitate and jumped into the water. Risking her own life, she fought the crocodile using an iron rod.
According to witnesses, the mother struck the crocodile powerfully for five minutes, forcing it to release her child. As a result, the boy was rescued, but both the mother and child were injured.
According to doctors and forest officials, the condition of the boy Viru is stable and his life is not in danger. After the incident, local authorities and relevant organizations began installing protective nets along the canal.
The public is being warned not to swim in water bodies during the rainy season. Official data shows that since 2020, there have been 17 cases of crocodile attacks on people in this area, five of which ended fatally.
Ecologists associate this situation with the disruption of the animals' natural habitats, lack of control over water bodies, and poaching. Local authorities are intensifying measures to address these problems.
