Israeli aircraft and tanks are bombing the northern and eastern areas of Gaza City. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These attacks are being carried out with the aim of taking control of Gaza City, which has nearly one million residents. According to the Ministry of Health under Hamas administration, 64 people have died and approximately 300 have been injured in the last 24 hours.
Overall, since October 7, 2023, more than 62,000 people have died and over 157,000 have been injured in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that despite international pressure, Hamas will be completely defeated.
The government is mobilizing over 60,000 reserve soldiers. The Defense Minister stated that Gaza City will be completely destroyed unless Hamas is disarmed and prisoners are released.
Peace negotiations are ongoing through mediation by Qatar and Egypt. Hamas announced that it has accepted a proposal for a 60-day ceasefire and the release of some prisoners.
However, Israel rejects such a partial agreement and demands the release of all prisoners. The United Nations and international organizations warn that the attacks on Gaza City could lead to severe humanitarian consequences.
According to official data, approximately 90 percent of the houses in the city have been destroyed, and the health and water supply systems are almost non-functional. On Friday, the UN confirmed that famine and a serious humanitarian crisis have emerged in Gaza City.
