Due to a strong storm in Vietnam, more than 586 thousand people were forced to leave their homes. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The storm is expected to reach the country's coasts on Monday morning. Currently, wind speeds are at 166 kilometers per hour and may increase further.
The greatest danger is observed in the central provinces. Therefore, residents were ordered to evacuate their homes, flights were canceled, and ships were banned from going out to sea.
The storm is passing near China's Hainan Island, where up to 320 millimeters of rain is expected. In Vietnam, rainfall may reach 300–400 millimeters, and wind speeds could increase up to 200 km/h.
Waves 2–4 meters high may appear at sea. Officials urged people not to go outside after 14:00 on Sunday.
Military personnel have been mobilized to assist civilians. Authorities described the storm as "extremely dangerous," emphasizing that fishing, tourism, and other activities are completely unsuitable.
Vietnam Airlines canceled at least 22 flights. Experts express concern that this typhoon could cause damage as severe as last year's storm.
At that time, more than 300 people died in Vietnam. This situation requires strengthening measures to ensure public safety and reduce the consequences of natural disasters.
