An explosion occurred at a children's store in Lubyanka, Moscow

A powerful explosion occurred at the "Central Children's Store" located in the Lubyanka area in the center of Moscow. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to emergency services, one person died and three were injured as a result of the incident. Two of the injured were hospitalized, and one received medical assistance at the scene.

The Moscow Health Department announced that the number of injured is still being determined. Currently, ambulance and other emergency services are operating at the scene.

The explosion was caused by the detonation of a gas cylinder located on the third floor of the store. Visitors and staff were immediately evacuated.

According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the explosion likely occurred due to a technical malfunction. Investigative authorities are examining the causes of the incident, and preliminary information suggests the explosion is related to equipment failure.

The Moscow branch of the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding this incident. The "Central Children's Store" has been temporarily closed since August 24.

The store's press service stated that the explosion happened in one of the tenants' areas. Additionally, the store management emphasized that necessary assistance will be provided to the family members of the deceased.

Currently, investigations are ongoing to clarify the exact causes of the incident.
