A man living in Yangzhou, China, announced his intention to sue, accusing a pharmacy chain of causing the breakdown of his family. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, he tried to purchase contraceptive medicine for his beloved, but the process unexpectedly became exposed, putting his marriage at risk. The man made the payment through a mobile app, but due to a technical malfunction, the transaction was not completed.
After that, pharmacy staff tried to contact him via the number he provided, but his wife answered the call. The woman became suspicious, asked the staff for additional information, and thus the secret was revealed.
The man made a video appeal online, emphasizing that not only he but also the "second family" could be destroyed. He plans to hold the pharmacy accountable, presenting as evidence the correspondence and screenshots between the staff and his spouse.
According to Fu Jian, a representative of the Henan Zejin law firm, the man may demand material compensation, but proving this is not easy. In his opinion, the main reason for the family breakdown lies with the man himself and his actions.
Therefore, first and foremost, the man should be held responsible for his deeds. If the pharmacy staff truly interfered with personal life, they may also bear legal liability.
Fu Jian added that if the case goes to court, a clear causal link between the pharmacy call and the marriage breakdown must be demonstrated with solid evidence. He also noted that the call itself is not illegal and was not made for the purpose of disclosing information, making it difficult to prove a violation of personal rights.
