The adverse weather conditions and a strong sandstorm that occurred on the eve of the annual Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert of America caused numerous problems. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This year's festival was an unexpected situation for participants and tourists, as the sandstorm quickly caused significant damage. Wind speeds reached up to 80 kilometers per hour, and visibility was reduced to only 30 centimeters due to dust rising from the dried lakebed in the desert.
This situation created major difficulties for the festival organizers and damaged the participants' resting areas. At Phoenix airport, all flights were temporarily suspended due to the sandstorm.
Because of the disaster, the airport lost power, and the storm tore off the roofs of buildings. As a result, flights were canceled, and tourists faced difficulties reaching their destinations.
This situation also negatively affected the documentation process. Additionally, on September 3, 2023, it was reported that participants of the Burning Man festival faced difficulties in the desert due to heavy rain.
These weather events seriously impacted the holding of the festival and required the strengthening of safety measures.
