Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president's office, expressed confidence in an interview with DW on August 29 that direct peace talks at the level of heads of state between Moscow and Kyiv will inevitably take place sooner or later. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, Ukraine will emerge victorious in this process. Yermak stated that currently, the international community is demanding that Russia be brought to the negotiating table.
He emphasized that this is exactly where Ukraine will achieve victory. Additionally, in New York, he met with U.S. President's special envoy Stephen Biegun and confirmed Kyiv's readiness to hold a face-to-face meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
He mentioned that on August 18, during bilateral talks between Zelensky and Trump in Washington, this issue was also discussed along with negotiations involving leading European countries. However, no clear signal has been received from Russia regarding readiness for the agreed meeting at the White House.
For this reason, the Ukrainian side once again emphasized its constant readiness for constructive cooperation. Kyiv's goal is not only to advance the diplomatic process but also to achieve political victory.
This topic is expected to provoke active discussions on the international stage in the coming weeks.
