Europe is calling for food stockpiling against the possibility of war
The European Union is urging its population to prepare for various crises, including potential military conflicts. A new security strategy developed by the European Commission aims to prepare citizens for emergencies. According to CNN, the document recommends forming a 72-hour survival kit consisting of water, medicine, matches, flashlights, chargers, and non-perishable food.

Europe is strengthening security measures

The 17-page document includes 30 specific security measures from the EU. This strategy allows European countries to effectively manage various threats. The measures encompass not only military conflicts but also natural disasters and financial crises.

The EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, emphasized that the war between Russia and Ukraine, the pandemic, and other risks are constantly forcing Europe to be cautious.

A new coordination center will be established

The European Union plans to establish a special coordination center to respond quickly during crises. This center will be responsible for enhancing cooperation among member states and providing rapid responses in emergencies.

Additionally, increasing stockpiles of medicines, raw materials, and energy resources is also foreseen. This will ensure that European countries have strategic reserves in emergencies.

European countries are uniting in emergencies

Currently, the level of preparedness for emergencies varies across Europe. For example, Spain has strengthened security measures following the floods in 2024, while the Baltic states are working on enhancing cybersecurity. The new strategy aims to address these disparities and create common standards and a unified reserve system across the entire EU.

Although the document does not foresee new defense initiatives, it is based on the Northern European model. This approach envisions the overall preparedness of society involving citizens, businesses, military personnel, and governments.

Is Europe ready for major conflicts?

The European Union is currently strengthening its preparedness not only against military threats but also against economic and environmental risks. These measures are being implemented to prevent shortages of food, medicine, and energy resources.

The precautions taken by citizens and the long-term strategies developed by governments are of significant importance for European security. European leaders are planning to combat risks through solidarity and forward-looking policies in the current situation.
