In Istanbul, prosecutor Erjan Kayhan was stabbed to death. This incident was widely covered in the local press and caused a great uproar throughout the country.
According to the Sabah newspaper, 19-year-old Mustafa Jon Gul, suspected of the crime, was arrested, promptly interrogated, and imprisoned by court order. It became known that Mustafa had worked as a waiter at the restaurant where the crime took place two years ago and had met the prosecutor there.
After some time, a quarrel of unknown reasons arose between them. Investigators believe that the young man intended to take revenge, attacked the prosecutor with a knife, and ended his life.
Moreover, the criminal's previous offenses are also drawing public attention. He has been held responsible for crimes such as violence against women, violation of housing privacy, and persistent harassment.
Mustafa served his sentence in Maltepe prison from November 2024 to January 2025, but after his release, he did not abandon the path of crime. Istanbul police and prosecutor's offices strongly condemn this incident, emphasizing that this crime is a serious test for Turkey's law enforcement and judiciary systems.
