An unexpected discovery in Canada amazed people. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During renovation work at a school in Ontario province, workers found a wallet lost 51 years ago behind a wall. This was reported by The Hamilton Spectator newspaper.
The wallet contained a student ID issued in 1974, a driver's license, a social insurance card, old photos of family and friends, and a 35-cent hockey ticket. The owner was identified as Tom Shopf through the name written on the documents.
According to the school educator Lorna McQuinn, seeing such a historical find was very interesting. They wanted to find the wallet's owner and return it, believing that even after 50 years, this person would be happy about it.
They contacted Shopf through social media. He initially thought the situation was a joke but later realized it was true.
The wallet also contained photos of the house where he spent his childhood. According to Shopf, his mother still lives in that house built in 1960, and they laughed together when they saw the photos.
Shopf emphasized that there is also information about how the wallet ended up in the wall. When he was young, he dropped his wallet while entering the restroom.
Someone else apparently took the money and hid the remaining documents and photos behind the tiles. This event made many people think about valuing the past and personal histories.
