At the opening ceremony, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that this supercomputer will help Europe maintain an advantage in artificial intelligence and high technology sectors in competition with the USA and China.
The Jupiter supercomputer is intended not only for computational power but also for wide application in biotechnology, climate research, complex modeling, and many other scientific fields. Through this, Europe will reduce its dependence on foreign digital services and gain the ability to develop an independent digital infrastructure.
