Istanbul governor and 47 people arrested for corruption

The Turkish prosecutor's office has decided to arrest Hasan Mutlu, the governor of Istanbul's Bayrampasha district, along with 47 other individuals. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

They have been charged with corruption, bribery, and violating state regulations. The police conducted raids at 72 locations early in the morning, confiscated relevant documents, and detained the suspects.

It was reported that the raid was extensive. Governor Hasan Mutlu denied the charges against him and described the investigation as a politically motivated operation.

He is a member of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP). Pressure on the CHP and the governorships in areas under its control has increased over the past year.

Hundreds of party members have been arrested, and a court decision regarding the CHP leader is expected to be announced in the coming days. These events are escalating tensions in the country's political environment.
