There are reports that Donald Trump may visit Central Asia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Eurasianet publication, Trump could become the first President of the United States to visit Central Asia. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has officially invited Trump to Tashkent.
The government of Uzbekistan has sent official invitations several times, and in April, a delegation led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov went to the White House to personally deliver the invitation. In 2018, Mirziyoyev visited the United States and met with Donald Trump at the White House.
At that time, the American president described Mirziyoyev as a highly respected figure. During a phone conversation on September 5 of this year, Mirziyoyev invited Trump to visit Uzbekistan at a convenient time.
However, according to sources in Washington, as of September 9, no definite decision has been made regarding Trump's trip to Central Asia. Eurasianet analysts speculate that Trump's visit may not be limited to Uzbekistan but could also include Kazakhstan.
If the visit takes place, it will mark the beginning of a new era in relations between Central Asia and the United States.
