A powerful explosion took place at a metal collection point located in the Boyserke village. As a result of this disaster, three workers lost their lives.
According to information, the deceased were citizens of Uzbekistan. According to the owner of the point, Amirbek Sherbayev, the explosion happened in a rented room.
He stated that among the metals brought by unknown persons, there were also dangerous devices. Sherbayev believes that anti-tank mines or other harmful items might have been mixed in from the metal casting workshop.
The metal was purchased at a low price, and no one knew the composition of the items brought. He also emphasized the possibility that unused mines belonging to the Ministry of Defense might have been mixed in.
Currently, criminologists and specialists from the Ministry of Defense are working at the scene. The area is completely closed off and no one is allowed in.
The identities of the deceased have been established, but their names have not been disclosed in official reports. According to Yernar Saydildin, a representative of the Almaty region's Department of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been opened regarding this incident.
He stated that as a result of the explosion at one of the metal collection points in the Ili district, three people died and their bodies were found at the scene. Investigations to determine all circumstances and causes of the incident are ongoing.
