The family of former Kyrgyzstan president Almazbek Atambayev was forcibly removed from their home in the village of Koitosh. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the "Interfax" agency, individuals in police uniforms and plain clothes came to the house and broke down the door, but none presented official documents, according to the former president's daughter, Aliya Shagiyeva.
The Kyrgyz State Property Management Agency stated that the land on which Atambayev's house in Koitosh is located was transferred to state ownership based on a court decision. The government plans to build a nursing home and a kindergarten in this area.
It should be recalled that on June 3, 2025, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced Atambayev to 11 years and 6 months in prison and ordered the confiscation of his property. The former president was convicted on serious charges including corruption, organizing mass unrest, and illegal occupation of land plots.
Thus, the house where Atambayev's family lived has passed into state ownership, and new socially significant facilities will now be constructed on this site.
