The federal government of Germany has significantly complicated the procedure for issuing national and Schengen visas to Russian citizens. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The press service of the German diplomatic mission in Moscow provided this information to the RTVI TV channel. According to the diplomatic mission, due to the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, security threats within the European Union territory have increased significantly.
For this reason, the German government was forced to tighten the visa issuance rules for Russian citizens. The new rules affect both national visas and Schengen visas.
From now on, applications from Russian applicants whose travel purpose is unclear or unsubstantiated will require more time for review and will undergo strict checks. Through these changes, the German government aims to ensure security and strengthen stability within the European Union territory.
Visitors from Russia will now need to prepare thoroughly for traveling to Germany and must submit all necessary documents completely and accurately when applying. These rules are aimed at increasing the transparency and security of the travel process.
The German government will continue to carefully review each visa application.
