Waste incineration plants in China are slowing down their operations

Recently in China, waste incineration plants have been experiencing shutdowns due to a shortage of waste. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The Financial Times published information about this. According to the data, the decrease in waste volume is related to a decline in consumption levels, a slow decrease in population, and the implementation of an effective waste management system.

Ten years ago, Chinese cities made large investments to solve the waste problem. Hundreds of new plants were built with billions of dollars in funding.

Their main task was to protect the environment by processing and incinerating waste. However, over time, despite the funds spent, the production capacity of some plants exceeded demand.

Currently, some enterprises are forced to stop operations due to insufficient waste volume. Others are limited to purchasing the necessary raw materials from other regions.

This situation reflects the success of the waste management system and changes in the lifestyle of the population.
