Russian elections conducted independently from the internet
The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, commented on the results of the recent regional elections and expressed a strong opinion about the internet. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

She emphasized that the internet is considered a hostile global network for Russia. Pamfilova made this statement while discussing the "GAS Vibori 2.0" information system.

According to her, the election system's resilience to cyberattacks lies in its complete autonomy from the internet. The Chairperson of the CEC described this situation as a hostile global spider web.

The results of the three-day elections held in Russia have been announced. Approximately 47,000 deputies at various levels were elected in these elections.

Additionally, 21 governors and new compositions of legislative bodies in 11 regions were formed. According to the election results, incumbent leaders won in 19 regions and the annexed city of Sevastopol.

All winning candidates were from the "United Russia" party, with only the head of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolayev, participating as an independent candidate and winning with 67.06 percent of the vote. According to Pamfilova, the overall voter turnout was approximately 47 percent.

More than 26 million citizens participated in pre-election events. The commission also emphasized that no serious conflicts that could affect the voting results were recorded during the election process.

At the same time, the independence of the Russian election system from the internet and its role in ensuring cybersecurity was once again acknowledged.
