The United Kingdom and the United States are preparing to sign a new agreement on the development of nuclear energy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This agreement is expected to create thousands of new jobs and strengthen the UK's energy security. The agreement will be formalized during US President Donald Trump's visit to the United Kingdom.
The new agreement aims to simplify and accelerate the approval process for building nuclear facilities. If a nuclear facility meets safety requirements in one country, it will be easier to approve it in other countries as well.
Additionally, the construction of 12 new nuclear facilities is planned in the city of Hartlepool, England. This project could supply electricity to approximately 1.5 million households and create thousands of new jobs.
However, environmentalists have expressed opposition to this initiative. They emphasize that such projects are very expensive and construction work takes a long time.
As a result, there is a possibility of an increase in electricity prices. Therefore, discussions around the project are ongoing.
