Former US President Donald Trump emphasized on September 18 that the war in Ukraine is proving to be more complicated than expected. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Trump, he thought that his personal relationship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin would allow for a quicker resolution of the war, but reality has not been as anticipated. He spoke about this at a press conference held with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Trump said that Putin deceived him and that there is no easy way to resolve the war. At the same time, he highlighted that Russia is suffering significant losses in Ukraine.
In his view, the Russian army is losing many soldiers, and these losses are greater than those of the Ukrainian army. The former president stated that if he were the US leader, such a large-scale war would not have started.
He noted that millions of people are dying as a result of the conflict in Ukraine and stressed the necessity of making efforts to stop this situation. Trump also repeated the words he told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office, warning that the continuation of the conflict could lead to a Third World War.
