China Eastern Airlines is taking a historic step by preparing to launch the world's longest commercial flight from Shanghai to Buenos Aires. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These flights will be operated with modern Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which can accommodate 316 passengers. According to the South China Morning Post, the inaugural flight will begin on December 4 and the plane will cover approximately 20,000 kilometers.
During the journey, only a two-hour transit stop in Auckland, New Zealand is planned. This route is expected to further establish Auckland as an important transport hub between Asia and South America.
The flight duration from Shanghai to Buenos Aires is 25.5 hours, while the return trip takes 29 hours. This difference is related to wind directions.
The airline will operate flights twice a week. Ticket prices start at 1,500 euros for economy class and 4,200 euros and above for business class.
This new route marks a new stage in international aviation and offers passengers a convenient option for long-distance travel.
