An incident in India has deeply shocked the public. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to BBC, a 20-day-old baby was found buried alive underground. According to information, the baby was discovered by a simple shepherd by hearing crying sounds.
Noticing the baby's hand visible from under the ground, he quickly called the villagers and then informed the police. Law enforcement agencies dug out the baby and took him to the hospital.
Doctors stated that the baby's condition was serious. He was completely covered in soil, with sand in his mouth and nose, causing difficulty in breathing.
Additionally, insect bites and signs of animal attacks were found on his body. Although the baby's condition slightly improved over one day and night, it later worsened again due to infection.
Doctors emphasized that the prognosis is not positive and stated that they are doing everything possible to save the baby. So far, the police have not been able to find the baby's parents, and the investigation is ongoing.
Officials say that such cases in India are often linked to a preference for male children. In some families, daughters are considered an economic burden.
According to human rights activists' estimates, millions of girls in the country have been aborted before birth or killed during infancy. Although the law prohibits determining the sex of the child before birth, secret clinics are still operating.
Also, a similar incident occurred in 2019. A prematurely born girl was placed alive in a clay pot and buried but was rescued in time.
Such cases indicate the ongoing presence of negative attitudes towards girls in society.
