
US President Donald Trump announced that he will hold a face-to-face meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit taking place in South Korea from October 31 to November 1. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The American president made the statement on the Truth Social platform on September 19 after a phone conversation with Xi Jinping. According to Trump, the two leaders reached agreements on a number of strategically important issues.
Among these were effective agreements on trade, the fight against fentanyl, the necessity to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as on the TikTok issue. The US president also stated that mutual visits will take place in the coming years to strengthen bilateral relations.
Trump said he intends to make an official visit to China in early 2026. Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s visit to the US is also planned, but exact dates will be set later.
Trump expressed gratitude for the agreement on TikTok and noted that he is eagerly looking forward to meeting Xi Jinping at the Seoul summit. This meeting is expected to mark a new phase in US-China relations.
Experts believe that the dialogue between the two leaders could be a significant turning point in trade relations and geopolitical issues.
