Four deaths in military helicopter crash in Washington
A tragic incident that occurred during a special operation by the US Army has caused deep sorrow in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to NBC News, on the evening of September 17, a military helicopter of the MH-60 Black Hawk type crashed in the state of Washington. Four elite military personnel lost their lives in this crash.

According to information, the tragedy happened at 9:00 PM local time near the Lewis-McChord joint military base. The helicopter belonged to the US Airborne 160th Special Aviation Regiment and carried experienced fighters performing night missions.

They died while carrying out their service duties. According to the Washington Department of Natural Resources, the crash caused a small forest fire over an area of 1.25 hectares.

However, the fire was quickly brought under control and extensive equipment was not deployed to extinguish it. Lieutenant General Jonathan Braga, commander of US Special Operations, described the fallen soldiers as elite fighters embodying the highest values of the army.

He emphasized that their bravery and dedication to service will never be forgotten. Rescuers, law enforcement agencies, and joint base personnel cooperated at the scene of the incident.

For reference, this is the second major air accident in the US Army in recent years. In 2023, during military training exercises, five special operations personnel died in a helicopter crash that occurred during a refueling operation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
