A large-scale raid was conducted in Germany against the use of illegal labor in the catering sector. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Federal customs investigators carried out special inspections in various cities across the country on September 19. According to Jens Aland, press secretary of the Cologne Customs Office, this operation is being carried out throughout Germany.
Its main goal is to identify cases of illegal employment, expose violations of minimum wage regulations, and put a stop to illegal activities. Thousands of customs officers participated in the inspections.
The raids were mainly targeted at restaurants and hotels. Initial inspections were conducted in the city of Cologne, where violations were found in three establishments.
According to Jens Aland, such cases occur almost daily. Many businesses illegally employ workers and pay them less than the established minimum wage.
Numerous complaints have been received regarding this. The raids included not only new inspections but also the review of previously identified issues.
On the same day, a person subject to deportation was found and handed over to the immigration service. The final results of the raid have not yet been announced.
Experts expect that many violations will be uncovered during the inspections and that strict measures will be taken against illegal labor.
