Starting from October 1, a new payment procedure for United States visas will be implemented. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
For non-immigrant visas, that is, for foreigners traveling to the US for study, work, or tourism purposes, the fee will increase from $185 to $435. This change is related to the introduction of a new fee called the “Visa Integrity Fee.”
According to official information, the main purpose of this new fee is to effectively combat illegal migration, modernize the visa system, and cover costs arising from individuals who violate migration laws. Additionally, a minimum fee starting at $250 will be added to the $185 consular fee.
Experts emphasize that this fee amount may increase further in the future. According to the rules, foreign citizens who legally obtain a visa have the right to get this fee refunded after returning from their trip to the US.
However, there are warnings that for Russian citizens, since the funds will be refunded in rubles, fluctuations in the exchange rate may lead to financial risks. At the same time, the new payment system is an important measure aimed at tightening the rules in immigration processes and ensuring financial stability.
These changes will serve to make the US visa application process more fair and efficient.
