A man in South Korea called the police 60 thousand times
It has been revealed that a 50-year-old man living in South Korea called the police nearly 60 thousand times over two years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to The Korea Herald, this individual made a total of 58,307 calls to the police from 2022 to 2024. This averages to about 80 calls per day.

The highest activity was observed in May 2024, when he contacted law enforcement nearly 2,000 times within four days. According to the information, the man had previously been administratively penalized for disturbing by phone.

Since he disliked a new draft law, he continued to repeatedly contact the police. During the calls, he provided various false information, including threatening to kill his brother and claiming to have been held captive for the past ten years.

As a result of the investigation, it was found that over 50 of his calls fall under serious crimes. Currently, the man is being investigated for obstructing official duties.

He explained that calling the police frequently was his way of coping with loneliness. Often, he developed the habit of drinking alone at home and then calling the police.

Regarding this case, it is said that the man may face up to five years in prison or a fine of 10 million won. Police and judicial authorities are thoroughly examining the situation.
