60 thousand false call cases detected in South Korea
On September 23 of this year, South Korean police arrested a man around 50 years old. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

It turned out that he made approximately 60 thousand false calls to the police in less than two years. The Korea Herald reported on this incident.

According to the information, out of the man's total 58,307 calls, 51 were accepted as emergencies. In the calls, he claimed to have stolen a refrigerator, planned to kill his brother, as well as reported being arrested and mistreated against his will.

Since 2023, this individual has been fined seven times for false calls. An investigation is underway against him for obstructing police officers in the performance of their duties.

The man may face up to five years in prison or a fine of 10 million won, approximately 86 million soms. Additionally, in the first four days of May 2024, he contacted the police 1,882 times.

He admitted that most of the calls were false due to living alone and often being intoxicated. This case is regarded as a test of the responsibility and patience of the police service in South Korea.

At the same time, it is recognized as an event that has aroused interest and astonishment among the public.
