Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced his readiness to hold direct negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He spoke about this in an interview with the “Russia 1” TV channel. Lukashenko emphasized that he wants to speak directly with Zelenskiy because he has a lot to say.
He said that the time has come to start the consultation process. According to the Belarusian leader, the Russian army controls many large settlements on the front line, and it will be very difficult to stop their movement.
Lukashenko also stressed that if Zelenskiy does not assess the situation correctly, Ukraine’s state independence could be at risk. He stated that there are good proposals to resolve the conflict and added that even former US President Donald Trump is aware of them.
It is known that after Russia’s military actions against Ukraine began, relations between Kyiv and Minsk sharply cooled. Ukrainian officials have accused Belarus of supporting Moscow’s aggression.
Currently, opportunities for political dialogue between the two sides are limited. Lukashenko emphasizes the necessity of negotiations to resolve the situation peacefully.
