An unusual situation that arose in Uzbekistan attracted the attention of local and international communities. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In a video appeal circulated on social media, a US citizen stated that he was unable to leave the country with his “Lamborghini” car. The press secretary of the Customs Committee chairman provided an official explanation regarding this situation.
It was reported that the expensive sports car under the control of the foreign citizen had stayed in Uzbekistan almost two months longer than the allowed period. For this reason, the export of the car from the country was temporarily prohibited and a payment was required to resolve the issue.
According to the customs authorities, the American driver paid a fee of 23 million 72 thousand soms and was exempted from administrative liability. After all the formalities were completed, he was permitted to leave Uzbekistan with his “Lamborghini”.
Additionally, difficulties arose during banking operations. Over the weekend, the foreign individual was unable to exchange currency or withdraw cash.
As a result, all processes were delayed and the matter was resolved after some time. According to current legislation, foreign vehicles cannot stay in Uzbekistan for more than 90 days.
This car entered the country on May 2, 2025, and the export deadline was set for August 2. Although the foreign citizen was warned about this, a fine was imposed for non-compliance with the rules.
Officials emphasize that such cases once again remind of the principle of equality before the law. Violations of the rules result in the same responsibility not only for local residents but also for foreigners.
