After the incident, the state of emergency in the country was intensified. The earthquake caused the collapse of a sports and wellness center located in the San Remigio municipality.

It has been confirmed that some local residents remain trapped under the rubble. Rescue workers are currently conducting extensive search and evacuation operations.

Experts emphasize that this earthquake is one of the strongest tremors observed in the region in recent years. The government has expressed condolences to the families of the victims and organized medical and financial assistance for those affected.

Additionally, there are warnings that the death toll may rise as search and rescue operations are still ongoing. The country’s government and emergency services are taking all necessary measures to address the consequences of the incident.
