Mulikat Ogunmode, who worked as a janitor in the British Parliament, was dismissed after it was discovered that she had been working 17 hours a day for 16 years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Ogunmode worked at Deutsche Bank during the day from 2008 to 2024, and in the British Parliament in the evenings. She regularly violated the minimum 11-hour rest period between two jobs, acting against British labor laws.
After Ogunmode's violations were exposed, the Parliament decided to terminate her employment. She filed a lawsuit against her employer, claiming unlawful dismissal and unfair withholding of wages.
However, the court rejected her claims. The judge emphasized that Ogunmode's irregular working hours posed risks not only to her health and safety but also to the interests of society.
Additionally, Ogunmode was held accountable for providing incorrect information to her employer about her second job. This incident highlights the need for serious attention to work and rest time regulations in the United Kingdom.
