Danna Karagusova flies to space from Central Asia
A Kazakhstani businesswoman, Danna Karagusova, is set to make history as the first woman from Central Asia to travel to space. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Her achievement is regarded not only as a milestone for her country but also as a new breakthrough in science and technology for the entire region. According to reports, Danna will fly to space aboard the New Shepard rocket spacecraft operated by Blue Origin, a company founded by Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos.
The flight is scheduled to take place in October 2025. The space journey will last only 10-12 minutes, during which the rocket will ascend to an altitude of 100 kilometers above Earth.
This altitude marks the boundary of space. Danna will be accompanied by five passengers: businessman Jeff Elgin, engineer Clint Kelly III, startup founder Aaron Newman, Ukrainian entrepreneur Vitaliy Ostrovskiy, and one more passenger whose identity remains undisclosed.
They will have the opportunity to experience weightlessness and observe Earth from space. The company plans to broadcast the flight live, although ticket prices remain confidential.
According to available information, a deposit of at least $150,000 is required to reserve a seat, with the flight price ranging from $500,000 to $1 million. Danna Karagusova is 43 years old, born in Almaty, and is one of the most active and modern female entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.
She is recognized as a leading expert in marketing and digital technologies. Danna founded the First Media Group marketing holding and served as its head for many years.
Additionally, she has 25 years of experience in media and event management. According to Blue Origin, Karagusova actively participates in innovative projects that combine art, science, and technology.
In recent years, she has focused significantly on the company’s new project called “Portals,” which aims to create an interactive platform connecting various cities through live video in real time.
Danna has tested herself not only in business but also in sports. She is an experienced mountaineer who has conquered the peaks of Kilimanjaro and Elbrus.
In her view, space is the next natural stage of human evolution. Karagusova comes from a prestigious family.
Her mother, Guljana Karagusova, served as Kazakhstan’s former Minister of Labor and Social Protection and was a member of the Senate. Her brother, Farhod Karagusov, works in finance; he is a member of the board of directors of the Central Securities Depository and holds a managerial position at Sky Bridge Capital.
Her brother Roman Romanov has been a deputy of the Pavlodar region since 2016 and previously managed the Kazakhstan Aluminum Joint Stock Company. In her personal life, Danna is active on social media, sharing her life, travels, and professional activities on Instagram.
She was previously married to blogger Beybit Alibekov but later divorced. They are raising three children together.
