British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer expressed his views on visas during his visit to India. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He announced that new visa routes will not be opened for Indian workers and students. Starmer is promoting the trade agreement signed with India in July.
This agreement allows British cars and whisky to be exported to India at lower costs, while Indian textiles and jewelry can be exported to Britain more cheaply. The Prime Minister emphasized that visa issues are not part of the trade agreement.
Although he stated his intention to attract the best talents, he firmly said that no new visa routes will be opened from India. During Starmer's visit to India, special attention will be given to developing cooperation in business and cultural fields.
This visit serves to further strengthen relations between the two countries. Additionally, new opportunities are being sought to develop economic and cultural ties.
