According to BBC News, Trump expressed these views during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. According to him, direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin are more difficult than anticipated.
Trump described the process as incredibly complex and said that initially he considered it an easy solution. He also emphasized that a peace agreement regarding the situation in the Gaza region is approaching.
On September 29, he presented his peace plan proposal concerning the conflict between Israel and HAMAS. Ending the Russia-Ukraine war is one of the key promises in Trump's election campaign.
US and Russian delegations have held several meetings, and the presidents have personally communicated in Alaska. However, so far, no agreement has been reached even on a temporary ceasefire.
Experts believe that the prolongation of the process is linked to the need to restore trust between the parties, resolve security guarantees, sanctions, and other important issues. At the same time, Washington and Moscow have expressed their readiness to continue diplomatic relations, which indicates that negotiations will continue.
