According to NBC News, the US government is developing a plan to deploy up to 200 American military personnel in Israeli territory to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These military personnel will provide practical assistance in logistics, transportation, engineering, and planning. Importantly, it has been clearly stated that there will be no American soldiers in the Gaza Strip.
This initiative will be carried out in the form of a civilian and military coordination center. After the agreement was announced, the mechanism was activated, and part of the US forces has already arrived in Israel.
This group supports the flow of humanitarian aid and monitors the continuous operation of the system to prevent incidents. According to official sources, American military personnel have previously participated in various missions in Israel, including missile defense exercises.
Last year, the US supported de-escalation channels between Israel and Hezbollah during the ceasefire process in Lebanon. At the same time, the Israeli government reached an agreement with HAMAS.
In exchange for the release of hostages from Gaza, Israel will free 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and 1,700 Palestinians who have been detained since October 7, 2023. The agreement also includes expanding humanitarian aid, disarming HAMAS, and gradually withdrawing Israeli forces from the sector.
The US president also shared information about this agreement on his official social media page. In summary, Washington’s special group in Israel will manage the complex situation behind the front lines, organize humanitarian efforts, monitor compliance with the agreement’s terms, and prevent potential misunderstandings.
