Images of a large asteroid that hit the Moon released

Astronomers have widely shared images on the internet showing the impact of a large asteroid that struck the Moon. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Since this event occurred during the daytime, it was possible to observe and photograph it using a telescope. Because the Moon has no atmosphere, asteroids approaching it do not burn up like they do on Earth, but instead impact the lunar surface directly with their full size.

Due to the absence of an atmosphere, it is difficult to accurately observe such objects at night. The asteroid that struck was about the size of a large city on Earth, and its collision caused a large dust cloud to rise and a new crater to form.

Many craters on the Moon's surface are long-lasting traces of such collisions. This event helps to further deepen the study of the mysteries of the universe.
