China opened the largest solar power plant in Tibet
China has set a new record in the field of renewable energy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The country has established the Talatan solar energy farm located on the Tibetan Plateau. This solar power plant covers an area equivalent to half of Moscow and is one of the largest and highest solar energy centers in the world.

The Talatan solar panels are situated at an altitude of approximately 3000 meters above sea level, occupying an area of 420 square kilometers. Experts emphasize that the chosen location is very favorable in terms of natural conditions.

The air here is thin, the temperature is low, and the sunlight is very bright, which increases the efficiency of energy production. Additionally, wind turbines have also been installed in the desert and mountain plains, complementing the solar energy.

The project also includes hydroelectric dams located on mountain rivers. Through high-voltage power transmission lines, this clean energy is delivered to cities and industrial enterprises more than 1600 kilometers away.

The Chinese government evaluates this project as a prototype of the future energy system. The goal is to provide the region with cheap and renewable energy and to use it in high power-demand sectors such as artificial intelligence centers.

Currently, the capacity of the Talatan solar power plant is 16,930 megawatts. Specialists expect the panel area to double by 2028 and the energy production volume to increase fivefold by 2030.

Additionally, nearby, 4700 megawatts of wind energy and 7380 megawatts of hydro energy systems are operating. This enables the Tibetan Plateau to become the world's largest green energy center.

Previously, China developed the world's largest floating wind turbine. Its blade area is equivalent to seven football fields and has a capacity of 16 megawatts.

This device was tested in the Guangxi-Zhuang Autonomous Region and will be connected to the grid in the near future. These large energy projects in China serve to further strengthen the country's leading position in ecological sustainability and technology.
