New information has emerged regarding the attack on Munir Nasraui, the father of Barcelona's young footballer Lamin Yamal, which took place last year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Spain's La Vanguardia publication, the incident occurred on August 14, 2024, in the Rocafonda district of Mataro, Catalonia. The event is connected to the "304" gesture used by the young footballer to celebrate goals.
According to the information, during the altercation in the parking lot, Munir Nasraui was stabbed multiple times. Witnesses stated that he tried to escape the attack, but the person wielding the knife chased him from behind and stabbed him several times in the chest and side.
Nasraui was admitted to a hospital in Badalona in serious condition, and doctors assessed his injuries as life-threatening. He remained in intensive care for several days.
Investigation data indicates that the incident arose from a simple misunderstanding. Earlier, someone had poured water on Nasraui from the third floor, which he found upsetting.
One witness said: “This situation cannot happen, I was just walking quietly. A good lawyer will resolve this case or we will talk later.”
About six hours later, Nasraui was attacked in the parking lot. The accused claim they acted in self-defense.
They stated that during the fight, Nasraui struck one of them, breaking his nose, and that the knife was in the hand of one of their acquaintances. For this reason, Munir Nasraui is currently being questioned not as a victim but as a suspect.
The 39-year-old Nasraui testified in court in Mataro two weeks ago. Several witnesses were separately questioned on the day of the incident, and their testimonies form the basis of the current investigation.
The police have arrested four suspects. One of them is directly accused of stabbing but was later released on bail and hired a new lawyer.
He claims that Nasraui was the first to attack and that he acted in self-defense. The case is currently being heard in court.
Although Munir Nasraui has recovered his health, debates surrounding the incident continue. Catalan media regard this event as a severe trial for the Yamal family.
