In Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, security services have detained a person who threatened to carry out a terrorist attack. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Kyrgyzstan State Committee for National Security announced this on October 18. According to the information, this case was identified based on false messages spread through the Telegram channel named “Bishkek Horror.”
During the investigation, it was revealed that Ukrainian citizen Ya. Ovsyuk created this channel and later renamed it to “AVERSION.”
He spread false information through the channel about planned terrorist attacks in city schools and major shopping centers. According to the National Security Committee, the user named “ayana” stated in an audio message the intention to blow up the “GUM,” “SUM,” “Bishkek Park,” “Dordoy Plaza,” “Azia Mall,” and “Tommi Mall” shopping centers.
These false threats caused panic and fear among the population, and activities in some public places were temporarily suspended. As a result of prompt measures taken by Kyrgyzstan’s special services, Kyrgyz citizen G.A. was detained within the framework of a criminal case.
He has been placed in temporary detention as a suspect in the crime of threatening terrorist activity.
According to official information, the investigation into all details of the incident is ongoing. The investigation is also examining the reasons for spreading false messages and the involvement of other individuals.
The National Security Committee appealed to the public not to believe such provocations, not to spread unverified information, and to report any suspicious situations to official authorities.
