US President Donald Trump has made a new statement regarding ending the war in Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, Washington is using all opportunities to resolve the conflict peacefully. Trump stated that reaching an agreement would be beneficial for all parties.
If the agreement is not reached, many could suffer great losses. The head of state emphasized that stopping the war is the main diplomatic goal and said that dialogue with Moscow and Kyiv will continue.
He also noted that Ukraine might win for now, but this possibility is very low. Trump stressed that he supports resolving all issues peacefully.
The White House leader openly spoke about the complexity of relations between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Their mutual dislike is making the situation even more difficult, Trump said.
For reference, last week Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This conversation took place on October 16.
The next day, Trump held a meeting at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. After the talks, the US president announced his intention to hold a second meeting with Putin.
The meeting may take place in Budapest, but the exact date has not yet been set. The meeting is planned for the coming weeks.
According to political analysts, Trump's statement indicates an increase in diplomatic activity around Ukraine. Washington is actively working on developing a new format that will lead to a long-term political solution to the conflict.
