US President Donald Trump has shared his new views on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, theoretically Kyiv could win, but the likelihood is very low. Trump, in a joint statement with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, emphasized that Ukraine can still achieve victory, although he expressed little confidence in this.
A month ago, as White House leader, Trump said Ukraine could regain its former borders through fighting with the support of the European Union. Over time, he stressed that with NATO and EU's patience and financial aid, the territories could be restored.
However, on October 19, he stated that ending the war requires the division of the Donbass region. According to Trump, a large part of Donbass, approximately 78 percent, should remain under Russian control.
At the same time, he added that Russia and Ukraine might reach agreements on certain issues in the future. Analysts assess Trump's words as a continuation of his cautious and pragmatic policy towards Ukraine.
He emphasized that ending the war peacefully is the most optimal option for the security of the US and the entire world.
