Their goal is to raise public awareness about bats. This year's competition is being held for the fifth consecutive time.

Photos of the participants are published on social media, and subscribers are asked to choose the most beautiful bat. The contest started on October 24 and the results will be announced on October 31, Halloween day.

According to wildlife expert Emma Bask, there are many misconceptions about bats. Only a small number of them can carry rabies, and transmission of this disease to humans is very rare.

Last year's contest winner was a bat nicknamed William Shakespeare with ears, from the state of Oregon. Such contests aim to increase love and attention for nature and provide broader information about the importance of bats.
