The situation related to bird flu in France has escalated again. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The country's Ministry of Agriculture has declared a high alert level across the entire territory. From now on, all poultry farms are required to keep animals not outdoors but only inside closed buildings.
This measure was adopted to prevent the spread of the virus and to strengthen sanitary control. In recent years, highly pathogenic bird flu has been spreading widely from European countries to America.
The virus has been detected not only in wild birds but also in mammals such as mink and cats. Experts are concerned about the possibility of the virus transitioning to human-to-human transmission.
So far, no such cases have been recorded. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has stated that the risk level for humans is currently very low.
In the last two years, millions of birds have been culled in Europe to contain the virus. For example, in the Netherlands, 71,000 birds were culled last week from a farm where bird flu was detected.
In Spain, rapid measures are being taken regarding several potential outbreaks. The French government noted that the vaccination program against bird flu, which started in 2022, has been effective.
However, experts emphasize the necessity of remaining vigilant and keeping the virus under control.
