On the night of October 22, Russia carried out another massive missile and drone attack on Ukrainian territories, the Ukrainian military reported. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of these attacks, casualties and injuries were recorded in Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and several other cities. Two people died in the attack in Kyiv.
One of them was a victim of a fire that broke out in a multi-story building in the Dnipro district. Additionally, 19 people sustained various injuries, five of whom were children.
Nine victims were hospitalized, said the city mayor Vitali Klitschko. Buildings in the Pechersk, Desnyansky, Darnytsky, and Solomiansky districts were also damaged.
In the Brovary district of Kyiv region, four people died. Among the deceased were a 38-year-old woman, her 12-year-old daughter, and a six-month-old infant.
It was also confirmed that a 38-year-old man died. At least 13 people were injured in the attacks in Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the regional head Ivan Fedorov, two children were among the injured. The attack damaged 15 multi-story buildings and several private houses.
In the city of Izmail in Odesa region, a drone attack damaged port and energy infrastructure. Although several fires broke out, official reports state there were no casualties.
Following the attacks, there were serious disruptions in electricity supply in Ukraine. The DTEK company introduced emergency power outages in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Russia's missile and drone strikes caused emergency outages in many parts of the country. Ukrenergo reported that the most severe situations are observed in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
Railway infrastructure was also damaged. Ukrzaliznytsia announced that some trains on certain routes are running with delays and some routes have been changed.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called these attacks further proof that Russia still does not feel sufficient pressure to end the war. In his opinion, there is no need for diplomacy with Russia until the Kremlin experiences real political and economic isolation.
In his address, Zelenskyy emphasized that this can only be ensured through strong sanctions, long-term policies, and coordinated diplomacy with partners. The current situation was another difficult night for Ukraine.
However, as officials stated, the morale of the population remains stable, and the defense system continues to resist Russia's massive attacks.
