On October 23, a serious road traffic accident occurred in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Near the village of Belkopa on the Samara–Shymkent highway, a DAF truck violated its lane, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with a passenger Gazel vehicle. As a result of the accident, two drivers and ten passengers in the Gazel died.
Additionally, five people sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. The regional Department of Internal Affairs announced that a pre-investigation check has been initiated regarding the incident.
The Gazel vehicle involved in the accident was engaged in passenger transportation from the Jurgenov village to the regional center. Police and investigative teams are working at the scene to determine the causes of the accident.
Experts emphasize that in recent years, the number of major road traffic accidents in Kazakhstan has not decreased. Especially on major highways, violations of traffic rules remain a source of danger.
This situation highlights the need for drivers to act more cautiously and responsibly. Previously, a major road traffic accident on the Kampala–Gulu highway in Uganda resulted in 63 deaths.
The incident in the Aktobe region once again reminded of the importance of caution and discipline on the road. Official conclusions will be announced after the investigation is completed.
