Tajikistan has taken a historic step. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The world's first special zone dedicated to artificial intelligence – Area AI – has been officially launched in the country. This was reported by local sources.
This initiative serves to expand scientific and economic opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence not only in the region but worldwide. Area AI is not only a scientific center but also a major platform for modern technologies.
It operates as a scientific-innovative technopark that integrates artificial intelligence model development, data centers, research laboratories, and startup ecosystems. The project is being implemented within the framework of the "Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy" adopted in 2022.
According to the government plan, by 2040 artificial intelligence is expected to contribute at least five percent to the economy. This will be an important factor in significantly increasing the country's gross domestic product and creating new jobs.
The Area AI special zone aims to create a collaborative environment for local and international specialists in the field of artificial intelligence. Here, researchers, engineers, and developers will have the opportunity to jointly develop new generation digital solutions, especially models in local languages.
Additionally, Tajikistan has signed cooperation memorandums with major technology companies from the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Singapore, and India. This step will enable the country to attract international investment and promote knowledge and experience exchange.
Experts believe that this project could turn Tajikistan into a leading center for artificial intelligence in Central Asia. However, enhancing human resource capacity, improving the investment climate, and developing infrastructure remain priority tasks for sustainable development.
Analysts emphasize that if the project is implemented according to plan, Area AI could become one of the most advanced technoparks in Central Asia in the coming years. This could elevate Tajikistan's technological potential to a new level across the entire region.
