The court trial has begun regarding the baseless rumors spread about Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the trial, 10 individuals — 8 men and 2 women — are accused of disseminating false information on social media portraying Brigitte Macron as a "man." Their ages range from 41 to 65.
According to the prosecution, these individuals not only slandered but also insultingly discussed the 24-year age difference within the Macron family, damaging the dignity of the presidential family. Brigitte Macron (72 years old) has chosen not to participate in the trial; her lawyer confirmed this decision and stated that Brigitte will not attend future proceedings.
However, her daughter may testify in upcoming court sessions. French media outlets regard this case as one of the most sensational slander campaigns against a political figure’s family spread on the internet in recent years.
It is expected that the truth will be revealed and justice will be served during the court process. This case is seen as an important example of combating misinformation spread on social networks.
